 The sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, Ruth Otabor is dead. The family announced her death on Sunday through a statement by Eko Solicitors & Advocates, saying Ruth passed on to glory on Sunday, at about 6:30 a.m. “With a heavy heart, the family regrets to announce the passing on to glory of their daughter, sister, and mother on this 31st Day of August, 2025 at about 06:30Hrs,” the statement read.  A Nigerian pastor has threatened to place a curse on a church member who gave an offering in old ₦10 and ₦5 notes. This was contained in a post shared on the popular social media platform, TikTok. The post, made available by a user, mevo_ma_gwo, showed the pastor openly addressing the matter after the church member dropped the old notes as offering. Issuing a warning, the pastor stated that while he did not know the reason behind the member’s action, such an offering should not be repeated to avoid attracting a curse.  The predicament of a set of twin sisters in the Likoko community in the English-speaking region of Cameroon has been revealed by a Facebook user, Ayisha Toginia. Toginia, who encountered the pregnant teenagers when they visited the Solidarity Hospital in Buea revealed that the girls were subjected to sexual solicitations in order to feed.   The Enugu State Police Command has announced the arrest of 18-year-old Obodoagu Ikediekpere Wisdom for the alleged kidnapping and brutal murder of his five-year-old second cousin, Obodoagu Wisdom. In a statement on Wednesday, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, also confirmed the arrest of 24-year-old Sunday Michael, a security guard at 9th Mile and a native of Mayo-Belwa LGA in Adamawa State, who reportedly acted as an accomplice in the crime. According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended on August 11 and 12, 2025, by operatives of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Tactical Squad following intelligence gathered after ransom demands were reported. Investigations revealed that the prime suspect used his accomplice to demand ₦1,000,000 ransom from the victim’s father, in an attempt to disguise his identity.  Veteran Nollywood Actor Fabian Adibe Passes On at 82 Veteran Nollywood actor, Chief Fabian Adibe, has passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, August 20, 2025. The respected thespian, widely remembered for his role in the film adaptation of Things Fall Apart, died around 2:30 a.m., according to an announcement made by celebrity journalist Seun Oloketuyi on Instagram. Adibe, whose career spanned several decades, was a familiar face in both classic and modern Nollywood productions, often cast in fatherly or elder statesman roles. His contributions to the Nigerian film industry earned him recognition as one of Nollywood’s pioneering figures. He was aged 82, though some reports place his age at 85. Tributes have since begun pouring in from fans, colleagues, and industry stakeholders who described him as a noble soul and a mentor to younger actors. May his soul rest in peace.

 An 18-year-old married woman, Chinasa Odeh, has died during childbirth in Ebonyi State.   The teenager was laid to rest on Monday, December 11, at her husband's compound in Ndulo Amike Izhia in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.   Her brother-in-law, Oge Nwizhia, who earlier announced her demise, said the baby survived and ‘is full of life’    “We deeply regret to inform you of the passing of our beloved sister-in-law, Chinasa Odeh, on the 12th of October 2023. Tragically, she lost her life during childbirth. We would like to announce thatthe burial ceremony for Chinasa Odeh will take place on the 11th of December at her husband's compound in Ndulo Amike Izhia. Despite the heartbreaking loss of Chinasa, we are grateful to share that her child has survived and is full of life, " he wrote.

A lady wowed netizens after showing off the grave she decorated for herself before her death.  In the now-viral video, the Nigerian woman, identified as Grant, stands beside her own decorated grave, giving viewers a detailed look at the final resting place she planned in advance.   A young lady was caught and disgraced for stealing some valuables in Makurdi, the Benue state Capital yesterday, February 8. According to an eyewitness, the young lady who is from Gboko Local Government of the state has been terrorizing people by stealing their valuables each time they went to work. The source further narrated that the slay queen identified as Mnena Iornumbe was caught after she used a ladder to climb into a compound in her neighborhood to steal wrappers. Mnena run out of luck after she was caught by the owner of the house. Angry mob descended on her and beat her thoroughly. They also shaved her hair using razor blade.
